Finished watercolour

I finally managed to finish a watercolour painting of the tower.

This time I took a photo of it without the frame in place (no reflections ) ha ha
I enjoyed painting the brickwork too..

I have been busy painting the church tower and have nearly finished the painting.
I am waiting for it to dry thoroughly and then I will paint in the details of the railings and the top of the dome.

I will publish a photo of the finished painting...

Patchwork

I continued to quilt my table runner for the bedroom, it was sunny so I took advantage of the bright light

I am going to quilt the stars and then decide about the red triangles

Esparto grass sandals

Esparto grass sandal making. The plait is wound into a spiral and then stitched together with a huge needle  and some string

The needle is pretty lethal

After I took these photos I began to twist a piece of string out of grass to make into the top of the sandal.
I am so enjoying doing this :D

Seed bead necklace and watercolour beginnings

As promised here are some photos of the projects I have been working on recently

This incorporates a lovely shade of iridescent purpley blues and gold seed beads

And this is the beginning of a watercolour painting of the front view of the church tower here in Competa, which still needs quite a bit of work...

This is the beginning of a bolero which is knitting up very nicely too (a Sirdar pattern)

Knitting and other stuff

Have been knitting a bolero in a heathery purple colour which is turning out nicely
and beading another necklace.. as well as painting a different view of the church tower for a client..

A very eventful weekend over the Easter period.. a couple of surprise guests arrived on Friday who stayed at the local Hotel Balcon for three nights. Well done to all friends on facebook for keeping the secret!
Saturday was the local charity market, which I am pleased to say went very well indeed.
I sold quite a bit, the first 2 items being the latest necklace I beaded with seed beads, and the watercolour painting of the church.
I also collected a few orders as well so the tax will need to be paid this quarter :D
I am also posting photos of the completed esparto grass basket and hat which are now hanging on the wall.

Fish and watercolours

I have mounted some wire work fish onto a matt black painted  cork board, which I think looks ok.
It is now decorating the computer room

 Then I decided to paint some watercolours... This first one is of the local church tower in Competa

 And these are some fantasy flowers and a butterfly

The other half thinks the flowers are too droopy what do you think?
