Crystal pearl necklace

Today I have been making a lovely necklace with some of the fluorescent Swarovski crystal pearls.
I beaded the pendant part and then threaded it onto a beading wire.

I think it looks nice, and am looking forward to doing another in pink or yellow :D

Esparto grass basket

Esparto grass class yesterday saw me finish a small basket for decoration, it looks quite cute.
The sewing together of the plait was a bit different to the large basket that I made earlier in the year.. but this one is soo cute... I may have to try and make an even smaller one...
I think I will try and make some sort of flowers to fill it ..maybe fabric..maybe ...
I also saw some small shoes similar to the ones I made for sale for €12...

Beading, crochet and weaving with esparto

This week, I received some Swarovski crystal pearls in really bright fluorescent orange, pink and yellow, which look really yummy. I have made a couple of necklaces' and they are now on sale in one of the shops.
I have also been crocheting motifs for the top I am making.
Last week I received a certificate for attending the Spanish classes which are not beginning again until September, which is a lovely long holiday during the long hot summer here..
Esparto grass weaving class has it's final day today too....
I may have to find something to do..??
Oh and I also painted our terrace this morning so it will not look too shabby when our daughter and her boyfriend arrive shortly for a holiday :DDD

Patchwork theme

Following on from the patchwork I have been doing for the guest bedroom, I finally managed to get some red thread in the villlage.. it must be very popular.
So this afternoon, I sat in the shade and quilted the final (so far) bit of patchwork

before going to esparto class.. where I started a much stronger base for a basket and began to sew it together. Tomorrow, I have the final Spanish class before the summer holidays..

apples and sago palm plants

Have been looking after our apple tree and giving it lots to drink in the heat

Two tiny apples can just be seen here

and the sago palm is growing a brand new set of leaves as well. They look really fern like and pretty whilst they are unfurling, but believe me the spines are lethal. Unlike the fruit trees, it does not enjoy lots of water

More crochet motifs

I have been sitting in the shade today crocheting some more motifs for the top I am making for myself.
I began to do the front as well so I can try and get the colours even
