Finished esparto grass sandals

Many thanks to Mari for helping me to finish the sandals today.

The worst part was twisting the cord, which is hard on the hands,but they look lovely

I finished the other heel and then made the cord for the ties.
They will now take pride of place on one of the walls..

Crochet top

Following a pattern, I have been using up all the odd bits of crochet cotton that have been left over from other projects. Hopefully the motifs will turn out to be a lovely top, which will be worn over a vest type t shirt

I have been sitting on the terrace in the sun making  the motifs and sewing them together as I go along. They are all in shades of white and beige.

Cactus flowers

One of the cactii on the terrace has decided to flower.
I have no idea what kind it is but the flowers are appearing in a circle around the top and are a beautiful deep purple colour.
I will look to see if I can find out any more information, but here is a photo for now

Ring cushion

I sold another watercolour picture yesterday, and have orders for another three for next week :D

I finished the ring pillow for wedding blessings.. It has been beaded around the edge and has a couple of indentations as requested to hold the rings.
I have also been making crochet stars, which I made into earrings

They both look nice, but the colour is really a very bright red!

Patchwork

Today, I unpicked the 2 cushions in my bedroom and changed the dark maroon colour for bright red to match the runner I made. I am pleased to say that they turned out well..

I then began to play with some pieces for  the 'pickle dish' squares from the Kaffe Fasset book  I bought on our trip to Sitges (It does need to be ironed) 

Esparto grass sandals and paintings

Thanks to the couple who called last night to collect their watercolour painting
I also delivered another one this morning for someone to give as a present.
I was also at esparto grass weaving today after missing it 2 weeks ago...
Anyway I made some cord to make into the upper and heel parts of the sandals and sewed these in place
Only one more heel to go next time..

Finished Bolero

I finally finished knitting the bolero. It looks wonderful. Thanks to Julie for lending me the pattern

It was knitted in Hayfield bonus DK wool. I normally do not go in for frills...
I am also very sad that there will be no more patchwork classes :(

Scruff's show

On Saturday Mr G and I went to the Pavo Real and had a stall there. This was all in aid for 'Action for Animals' and 'TAILS'
We had a wonderful day, enjoyed seeing all the lovely dogs, and lots of friends too!
Thanks to Sue for giving us a lift there and back.
The stall was provided by the pavo real and we now have the setting up down to a fine art

over €2.000 was raised for the charity too!

Getting ready for scruff's

I have been getting things ready for scruff's show at the Pavo Real where I am going to have a stall.
The event is being held in aid of 'Action for animals' so I an hoping for a good turn out and some good weather.

Church tower Competa watercolour

Sorry I have not posted in a while as we have had a couple of very welcome visitors and we have been very busy as it is the time of year to do the tax returns...
I have been adding the finishing touches to a couple of watercolour paintings and have begun another one

I have been having fun with this one painting the roof tiles it still has a lot of work  to do..

And I finally added the smaller details to this view.

Hopefully the sun will shine here tomorrow and I can paint a bit more, the light was not bright enough today and the 'daylight bulb' in the lamp I have distorts the colours too much..
Rumour has it that today may be that last day of the winter here..no more rain???
